Let’s play with paint and characters! I will teach you how to find a character that speaks to you, from drawing to shading and pulling it all together. Layers of paint and marks and joy will abound. Hopefully, laughter will fill the room, as well! I love a joyful room!
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
My supply lists are always a suggestion. I want you to know exactly what I used but you are welcome to use whatever you like. Experiment!
Drawing Paper (I used a pad of 95 lb drawing paper. Brand doesn’t matter)
Foam Board (the kind kids use for school projects, you can cut this down to about 5 x 7 for easy travel, you will only need a couple of pieces)
Rice Paper (I will bring enough of this for everyone but if you want to buy it yourself, look on Amazon for Mulberry Rice paper. The thin kind, it has specks and tiny bits of flowers)
Collage papers (I use Gelli printed papers or old matte papers or photocopies. I don’t like magazine pages because they tend to badly wrinkle)
Bold paper for underneath (scrapbook paper in tiny designs works great)
Matte Medium/Gel Medium
A few acrylic paints in colors you like – My favorites are Golden Fluid Acrylics (my favorites for face painting are Burnt Umber Light, Paynes Gray, Quinacridone Magenta, Teal and Pyrrole Red Light) and Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paints (I can’t live without the color Chalk!). I use a few light or neutral colors in my backgrounds.
Posca Markers – Black & White PC-1MR .07
Brushes -I love the Princeton Snap Series, particularly the Filbert size 4, Round sizes 2 and 0
Colored Pencils (if you want)
Brayer
Scissors (I love the Tim Holtz scissors, medium size)/Xacto knife
Mark making things: Stencils, stamps, whatever you like
