Soldering can be such a great tool in your metal working art, it can also be one of the most frustrating tasks to work with!
Let me help you learn to solder without fear or frustration. Now I know there will always be those moments for all of us when it is best to just step outside the studio and take a deep breath. That is just part of the game of life and art. But with practice, a few unbreakable rules and knowledge you will become a confident soldering artist!
You will learn about the different kinds of solder and when and how to use them. Learning the few basic unbreakable laws of the “soldering gods” and different methods for making those critical connections.
Materials Fee $40 paid at beginning of class includes:
Butane fuel and use of class torches, samples of solder types, sample of flux, some scrap metals to practice on and one finish able project that you will solder. Use of class tools and disposables
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
If you have a small butane torch bring it (I have larger torches and fuel for class). Scrap silver, copper and/or brass to practice with if you have any. Basic jewelry pliers, files and flush cutters. Other useful items are vision help, safety glasses.
