-Begin by selecting scraps of fabrics from my stash, that will compliment the scraps you bring from your own personal collection.
-Learn how to piece those fabric scraps together to form book pages filled with tantalizing textures and colors.
-Build layers with sheer fabrics and small scrap tidbits using thread as a mark-making device
-Bind all your instinctually stitched pages together into a book full of tactile delights.
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
This is a list of what I used to make my Scrap Book, but feel free to substitute anything on this list with what you have on hand.
-Small, medium and large fabric scraps, (some sheer) in your color choices - solids and patterned light and dark for contrast - I’ll have some to share
-Sewing needles with a large eye to accommodate heavier weight threads
-a blunt needle for weaving
-Threads of varying weights for hand sewing, embroidery and DMC 5 and/or 8 - your choice of colors, black and white or cream is recommended for contrast - I’ll have some to share
-Seam ripper for distressing fabric- I’ll have some to share
-Thread snips and fabric scissors
-Straight pins and a pin cushion
-anything you’d like to include in your book to embellish your pages like buttons, baubles or beads
