During this 3-day workshop, I will teach you how to create a gorgeous canvas handmade book with stunning metal transfers, leaf printed, and faux etched metal attached to the pages. You will learn simple bookbinding and cold connection skills and I will share my favorite collage and surface design techniques using gesso, ink & paint to create beautiful textures and surfaces. Your final book will be approximately 7” x 6” with at least 6 metal transfers 20 writing surfaces, and adorned with pockets, tabs, and mini books. I first created this book to honor the important places, people, and memories that have been such an important part of my life and I would love to teach you how to create this lovely keepsake! They should be high in contrast, a variety of sizes 4 x 6 and smaller, and printed on a laser printer on inexpensive plain copy paper. No text. It is very important to use cheap plain copy paper. If you bring it to a copy store to have it printed, bring your own paper.
