In this basic assemblage workshop, you will learn how to create an eclectic, free standing shrine and a small book, starting with only two pieces of wood, canvas, and a few of your favorite treasures. While learning to unify newly created metal pieces and old found objects, we will work to create a gallery-quality unique, and personal shrine. Consider enshrining a favorite deity or ancestor, commemorating an important trip or event in your life, or perhaps allowing the materials to inspire your creativity. You will learn the nuts & bolts of assemblage, composition, cold connecting, and how to unite found objects to create a cohesive piece of art. I will share with you my favorite techniques for altering metal surfaces, including leaf printing, transfers & faux etching. Finally, I will teach you how to make beautiful clay faces, and how to make a mold of just about anything. We will drill, sand, transfer, print, paint, sculpt, problem solve, punch & distress...but most importantly, we will have a blast! Build a new home for your found treasures and join us for a fun day of constructing these awesome, one-of-a-kind assemblages! No experience is necessary
