For those looking for a little deeper dive into linocut block printing. We will have more time for a more complex image of your choice. We will use a little larger block than in the intro class. We will cover image transfer methods, positive and negative space, safety while carving, and instill confidence in carving. You can bring your own image or choose from images available from the instructor. Then we will print on a variety of papers and cardstocks. You will leave with several prints, cards, and the inspiration to continue on your own. All skill levels are welcome. Warning: Linocut carving can become addictive.
Materials Fee $30 paid to instructor at beginning of class includes:
Soft carve substrate, inks, brayers, burnishers, sharpie markers, carving tools, spray bottles, and a variety of handmade papers, and cardstock.
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
an apron, a shop towel or hand towel for wiping hands, favorite lino cutting tools if you own them. Otherwise, the instructor will have loaner tools for use in class and for purchase.
