Adventures with Watercolor

Portland Spring 2027 is not open

Jacqueline Newbold
9:00 - 4:30
Sat/Sun March 20-21
$410.00

Step into a wonderful world of color with watercolor artist Jacqueline Newbold. Together we’ll explore the magic of mixing luminous colors, taming muddy areas, and understanding why some colors sing while others fall flat. With the color wheel as your guide, you’ll discover how to mix lively, dynamic color combinations. As you deepen your understanding of how colors relate to one another, you’ll feel more confident making expressive, intentional choices in your paintings!

Through relaxing, curiosity‑driven exercises, you’ll discover how complementary colors make each other glow, how warm and cool pigments shift the mood of a painting, and how the paints on your palette interact in surprising ways. This is a problem‑solving class in the best sense: playful, exploratory, and full of “aha” moments.

Your colorful experiments will be painted on Arches 140 lb. paper and gathered into a charming 6" × 9" spiral‑bound color journal — a little treasure you can tuck into your bag and bring along on all your creative journeys.
