Create a one-of-a-kind sketchbook that’s as much a work of art as the pages inside! The Concertina (accordion) book unfolds into an impressive 8-foot-long continuous canvas, giving you endless possibilities for sketching, journaling, painting, travel memories, panoramas, and more.
We’ll begin by designing beautiful, layered covers using collage, acrylic paint, and playful mixed-media techniques. Then, you’ll learn how to construct your own book using 16 continuous sheets (32 sides) of Strathmore Watercolor paper, finished with sturdy handmade covers and a ribbon closure.
Whether you fill it with artwork, memories, photographs, or spontaneous creative explorations, this versatile format is sure to inspire you long after the retreat.
You’ll leave with a finished, completely unique Concertina Sketch Book and a variety of fun painting, collage, and mixed-media techniques to continue exploring in your own art practice.
Come ready to play, experiment, and create something truly special!
Students of every experience level are welcome!
