Create unique, multi-layered, dimensional collages with hand-painted papers. This workshop will also have a fun color mixing feature as well as a focus on how we can use shiny and matte in our work to manipulate light and create visual interest.
Materials Fee $15 paid at beginning of class includes:
4x4" Cradled Birch Panel
Heavyweight Cotton Papers
Sample Super Matte Medium
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
NOTE: I am an Artist Educator for GOLDEN Acrylics and nearly exclusively use and instruct with their products. Your color mixing will be more successful if you are using professional grade paints.
• Fluid acrylics in any colors you like, but minimally in a “primary” trio (one each of a red, yellow, blue), plus black, white and at least one shiny iridescent color like gold, silver, pearl, copper or bronze.
• High Flow acrylics OR acrylic ink OR acrylic markers
• Soft Gel Gloss (not Matte)
• Gesso (either white or black, or both if you wish)
• Brushes: Any you enjoy using. I like a 1” flat, several smaller detail flats and rounds, a smaller angled, “liner” and “fan.”
• Painter's tape for taping the edges off
• Palette or palette paper for your paint
• Paper towels
• Water container
Optional:
• Art Journal or “junk canvas” for offloading paint or experimenting with colors and marks.
