Making artful faces can be fun and playful when we let go of trying to make a portrait. In this class, students will be guided step by step in various ways to lay down lines to create absurd and even distorted faces that contort and emerge in weird and wonderful ways. We will spend part of class practicing and exploring various types of face forms and imaginative elements. This is a class where happy mistakes can be especially happy as we bring to life weird and artful faces. Students will spend the second half of class creating an 11x14 expressive weirdo face on watercolor paper. BEGINNER FRIENDLY and especially helpful for those who have wanted to paint faces but feel timid about it. Also useful for the seasoned art maker who craves fresh inspiration and new techniques to add to their practice
