Shwe Shwe, much loved in Southern Africa, was originally developed in Java and India. It travelled through European trade routes before becomirw the iconic symbol of Southern Africa and the then South West Africa. It was quickly accepted by the Herero wornen, and til today when you Wt the now Namibia, you will see the women proudly wear their Shwe Shwe creations. We will be using this fabric to make cuffs from Shwe Shwe and assorted beads. Although this is a no sew project, there will be some stitching of closures and attachirw beads. You will receive enough fabric and dosures to make 2 cuffs. I will have extra wood closures and fabric to purchase.

Cotton cord Embroidery thread
Supplies Needed to bring for Class:
Fabric scissors
Very sharp Dressmaking pins
Large eye, sharp point needle (to accommodate Imm cord)
Thimble Pliers to assist pulling needle fabric.
Small dressmakers iron & pressing cloth
Ruler and dressmakers pencil
Tape measure
Assorted beads with holes no less than 1 mm.
1 Larger bead with a hole •F 3mm.
